KLAXON STORY
Why in the sea it is so easy to move autonomously while in the city we encounter so many difficulties?
The idea of producing mobility solutions for people in wheelchairs was born from the sea. The previous phrase may seem like a provocation, but realising that it is easier to cross the ocean in a sailing boat than to move around the city, led to the idea of creating “something” that allows people to move around easily and independently on land.
In 2015, Enrico Boaretto and Andrea Stella, the founders of Klaxon, set up a company that designs solutions for the everyday mobility of people who, like them, are wheelchair users.
The choice of the company’s name, however, comes from a completely different world: the road.
In fact “Klaxon”, as well as being a reinterpretation of the name of the car horn, sounds loud and evocative. The products are called Klick because this word recalls how fast they can be engaged and disengaged: in just a “klick”. Klaxon immediately stood out on the world scene as a highly innovative company, with a creative and cutting-edge R&D department and a worldwide patent for the “Linking System Klaxon®”. Klaxon has achieved ambitious goals that prove its commitment and quality: it has obtained various certifications, including the ISO 13485, and worldwide patents that attest to its excellence and quality at an international level.
Il team
CEO & Co-Founder
Enrico Boaretto

I was born in 1967 and I have been using a wheelchair since then I have earned a degree in Economics and a Master in International Business in Trieste. I met Andrea Stella through the nautical world and together we set ourselves a challenge: to realise our dream of being able to move around independently in a wheelchair and reach inaccessible places. In 2015 we have founded Klaxon Mobility GmbH. In there we have focused all our ideas, thoughts and solutions to facilitate and ease the lives of people who, like us, use a wheelchair. I had already been living in Austria with my family for some years at that time. That’s why Klaxon is an Austrian company. I love sailing and the open, endless spaces that the sea has to offer, as infinite as the moves on a chessboard.
Sales Manager & Co-founder
Andrea Stella

I was born in 1976. I graduated with a degree in law and during an award trip to the United States I found myself inexplicably in the middle of a gun fight. It was 2020 and from that day on my life changed completely. I have always been fond of sailing and in 2003 I started building what became the first accessible catamaran in the world: “Lo Spirito di Stella”. On board this boat I can easily move around on my wheelchair. I have already crossed the ocean three times, giving life to a social project: “WOW – Wheels on Waves”.
I met Enrico because of our shared passion for sailing and we often asked each other. “How is it possible that we can move freely on the sea but in a city we have so many difficulties?” That is how Klaxon was born, in response to our real needs and to those of other people with disabilities.
In 2017 in New York I received from UN President António Guterres the “UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, which crossed the ocean together with me until we reach Rome. There I have handed it to Pope Francis.
R&D Manager
Antonio

I have a technical-mechanical background. I have always had a passion for mechatronic engineering, and in 2020 I set up a company specialised in data acquisition systems for motor sports, and later introduced the design of electronic systems for controlling endothermic engines into my business.
I have always cultivated my interests and indulged my nature as an innovator and researcher. I have successfully experimented and realized my intuitions. For 15 years I was director of research and development for a multinational company.
At Klaxon, I design and develop innovative mobility solutions.
My work consists of imagining, designing and finally realising products with my own hands. Like a deus ex machina I bring things to life!

Magda

In Klaxon I take care of accounting and administration. I am always willing to help my colleagues with the German language!

I was born in Italy but I live in Austria for sentimental reasons. After the Diploma as Electrical and Electronic Technician, I worked in the field of automation, making mechanical and electrical installations and electronic boards. In Klaxon I am in charge of internal and external logistics, purchasing and supplier relations. Working at Klaxon has motivated me to overcome a really tough obstacle: learning German.
In my free time if I’m not on a bike, I walk miles and miles of trails in the mountains.

Riccardo

I’m a Mechanical Engineer with a proven background in motorbike and electric vehicles with a focus in the management of tests (development and validation), quality and of the certifications of vehicles.
I joined the fantastic and motivated staff at Klaxon, who gave me the opportunity to work in a company where the challenge of a new role is combined with the certainty of doing something really useful for the other people.

Leonardo

I was born in 1992 and since I was a little boy I have grown up surrounded by motors and sports. From the two wheels of the motorbike to the four wheels of the rally car. I am a Ski instructor at the ski school “Scie di Passione”. Since 2012, I have also been Head Coach for winter sports for the Special Olympics of San Marino.
I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences. I started working at Klaxon right after the foundation and I am now responsible of the Customer Care.
A sportsman from the start, I love the open air and the mountains. In my free time you can find me in the middle of the woods riding my mountain bike or climbing peaks.
R&D
Giovanni

I was born in 1997 and I’ve always been passionate about technology of all kinds. Following this passion, I obtained a degree in ICT Engineering in Padua where I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the digital world and get in touch with the different disciplines that make up this field.
During my studies, thanks to my technical background, I had the opportunity to work as a web developer in a marketing agency, here I was able to test my creativity and my problem-solving abilities.
Through my interest for the autonomous driving and computer vision I have discovered and joined Klaxon. There I have developed my thesis and then I was given the opportunity to test myself and work on interesting and innovative projects. I am also passionate about videogames of all kinds and of cars.

I was born in 1990 and have always lived in Camporosso in Valcanale.
For many years I worked at the ski lifts in Tarvisio’s ski area ( during the winter seasons) and in the creation of public and private gardens ( during the summer seasons). I am happy to put into practice what I learned during my studies in mechanics here at Klaxon. My passions are family, music and singing. I play the drums in a folk music group.
Area Manager
Matteo

I was born in 1985. After graduating in Marketing and Business Management I moved to London where I worked as a barman in a typical English pub. Upon my return, I started my experience in the commercial area of a well-known American multinational within the medical sector. After 8 years I joined Klaxon as an area manager, enthusiastically supported by my colleagues! Passionate about travelling and motorcycling, I ride my Harley Davidson through the valleys of Austria and then surf its mountains with my snowboard.
R&D
Francesco

I was born in 1998, and I have never hidden my enthusiasm for computers since I was little.
I worked as an ICT specialist for 6 years; during this time, my interest in developing mobile apps and platforms continuously grew, so I decided to change work path and become a software developer.
Every day I have the possibility to learn something new from Klaxon’s projects, and the knowledge gathered at work I can use it for my own projects.
Customer care
Simone

Born and raised in the mountains in a borderland, an avid traveler and fervent sportsman, I have always been interested in culture and languages, which led me, after graduating from high school, to attend a tourism-oriented school in Austria, where I earned a specialized diploma and learned a lot of knowledge regarding a wide variety of subjects, including several foreign languages and knowledge in business and management.
In the company since April 2024, after doing a stint in production, I am currently doing customer care and partly order management. I take this opportunity as a chance to keep languages in practice and to grow professionally in customer management.
